Icelandic Chicks at the Cabin | Homemade Chick Starter Recipe
We head to pick up our 30 Icelandic chicks from a local breeder in Alaska and show you the brooder set up in our cabin. We also share our homemade chick feed recipe to get our chicks off to a healthy start!

Chick Starter Recipe:
- 4 cups whole peas
- 2 cups crimped barley
- 2 cups crimped oats
*grind these three ingredients
- 1 cup wheat bran
- 1/4 cup flax seed
- 2 tbs kelp meal
- 1 tsp brewer's yeast
*mix coconut or olive oil into mixture by hand until ingredients come together (approx. 1/4 cup)
