Dead body recovery from Island peak 18500ft

On Nov 14 Mr ANDREAS BACK PEDERSEN Danish climber fell from Island Peak high camp and he was spot dead. Simrik Air was called for Recovery of dead body on 15 Nov 19. Capt Bibek Khadka with his team Chhiring ‘dhenduk Nuppa and Ang Tashi Sherpa went for the mission. Weather was quite challenging as winds was gusting upto 30-40 kts and body was located inside the culvert at around 18500ft. After 2-3 attempt Rescue specialist Chhiring was dropped in the recovery zone. With all hard effort of Capt body was taken out. Later Chhiring was picked and brought back. Body was delivered at kathmandu after postmortem at Lukla airport. Video was clicked by gopro attached at the helicopter and some footage was clicked my rescue specialist Ang Tashi Sherpa was assisting from base camp of Island peak. May the soul remain in peace.
