Wonders of Wildlife Museum Full Tour - Springfield, Missouri

All animals in the museum were donated by hunters, collectors and zoos, Zoo animals died of natural causes.

The Johnny Morris' Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium, also known as simply Wonders of Wildlife is a not-for-profit educational conservation-themed attraction in Springfield, Missouri. It is located adjacent to the Bass Pro Shops National headquarters, and is named for the Bass Pro Shops' founder. The 350,000 square foot facility consists of two major sections. The Wildlife Museum presents a series of immersive wildlife galleries containing taxidermied animals from around the world displayed in elaborate and detailed dioramas representing a variety of natural habitats, as well as historic artifacts, artwork, films, and special exhibits, including the Boone and Crockett Club's North American Heads and Horns Collection of big game mounts.

TAKE A JOURNEY AROUND THE WORLD
Stand in awe observing nature’s most striking exotic animal habitats, like leopards perched high above the ground observing their prey, muskox fighting off a pack of wolves beneath the northern lights, and wildebeests battling with crocodiles at a watering hole.

Theodore Roosevelt's Cabin:
Step into the past and inside the cabin of “Conservation President” Theodore Roosevelt. A replica of Theodore Roosevelt’s Maltese Cross Cabin, learn about his historic legacy and view authentic artifacts from his life.

The Lewis & Clark Collection:
Charles Fritz, one of the nation's most respected Western artists, has painstakingly brought the Journals of Lewis and Clark to life through 100 paintings, offering a dramatic visual experience of the historic expedition.

National Parks:
A window into some of the most awe-inspiring natural treasures in America, the National Parks gallery teaches about the importance of conserving public lands that serve as a protective border for wildlife, plants, and historical sites.

Boone & Crockett:
Founded by our nation’s leading conservation hero Theodore Roosevelt, Boone & Crockett Club’s National Collection of Heads and Horns features more than 40 historically significant North American game animals that helped spark America’s conservation movement in the 1920s.

Bucks & Bulls:
Bucks and Bulls features the foremost collection of world-record whitetail deer with a rotating collection of more than 200 of the world’s finest specimens. Highlights include three current world-record trophies and a display showcasing the whitetail deer throughout its stages of life.

Game Birds:
Highlighting the conservation efforts of The National Wild Turkey Federation, this dramatic diorama showcases turkey and grouse species of North America within the sprawling branches of a Southern Live Oak.

Year of the Bird:
Take flight in this exhibit as you learn of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act passed by Congress years ago to protect birds from meaningless killing. It is the most powerful and important bird-protection law ever passed.

Sheep Mountain:
The personal collection of avid hunter-adventurer Arthur Dubbs, Sheep Mountain incorporates 40 record-setting wild sheep against a breathtaking mural and dramatic climatic conditions incorporating sounds from the mountains and scents from the wild.

Polar Expedition & Penguin Cove:
Explore the drama of the north and south poles, including a colony of live penguins. Playful and fun, the birds remind visitors that the planet’s natural beauty is worth exploring, protecting and sharing with future generations.

Great African Hall:
This dramatic exhibit immerses visitors within the daily drama of the African savannah with an array of animals including elephants, giraffes, crocodiles, zebra and more as a tribute to the importance of African wildlife conservation.

Africa After Dark:
Step into a historic safari camp site that recreates the thrill of camping in the wild. Eagle eyes can spot nocturnal African mammals throughout the space including lions, hippos, bongos and bush pig.
