Gritty people don't believe in statistics | Can you control your own luck?

"I don't believe in statistics, I believe in calculus" is a quote from Ben Horowitz, a serial entrepreneur. He suggests that WE manipulate our "chances" of success by applying more force, more courage and more willpower to the equation.

Statistics lies. You can control your own luck. So, how to get "lucky" in life?

Build the GRIT. What is grit and who are gritty people? As defined by Angela Duckworth, grit is a "passion and perseverance" for long-term goals. Gritty people have the following characteristics:

1. Courage
2. Conscientiousness
3. Endurance
4. Resilience
5. Striving for excellence, not perfection

How gritty are you?

P.S. If you don't know how to be determined to do something, try to focus on builiding resillience first. Find your "passion", something you could dedicate yourself to. The grit will follow from there.
