Mastering OSCAR: Overview of the Recommendation Process

In this video, we give recommenders, applicants, and law school administrators an overview of how recommendations work in OSCAR. For applicants, the video shows how to identify recommenders in OSCAR, how to generate electronic requests for recommendation letters, and how to monitor the status of recommendation requests. For recommenders, the video demonstrates how to access OSCAR, how OSCAR provides notifications of recommendation requests, and how to submit an online letter of recommendation on behalf of an applicant. Additionally, the video highlights the applicant’s responsibility to communicate with recommenders outside of OSCAR before requesting an electronic letter of recommendation, as well as how recommenders can deny requests for recommendation letters in OSCAR.
