Big Question Interview with Babu Owino
SONU Chair Babu Owino has moved to clear the air over his source of wealth.
Speaking on Citizen TV’s Big Question on Tuesday, Babu stated that he does not deal in drugs, noting that he owns several companies in the country which are his fountain of wealth.
“I not very wealthy and the wealth I have comes from God. I own a number of companies including a supplies company, a property and a construction company. I am also a farmer,” he stated.
Babu further put NACADA chair John Mututho to task over his allegations that some students at the University of Nairobi deal drugs and other illegal substances.
He called on Mututho to substantiate his claims, saying hearsay cannot be admissible in court.
On his tenure as SONU chair, Babu Owino stated that he plans to retire from campus politics at the end of the current term, adding that he will vie for the Embakasi East parliamentary seat in the next elections.
