MIT Robotics Team RASC-AL/NASA Robo-Ops Livestream

MIT Robotics Team's 2014 RASC-AL Robo-Ops Competition Run. We hope you have as much fun watching as we did operating, and please excuse the sillyness - there were many sleepless nights leading up to this moment.

A huge thank you to our sponsors:

- Peplink: Peplink's SpeedFusion unbreakable VPN technology with hot failover and bandwidth aggregation allowed for high speed, reliable, worry-free remote operation over multiple 4G LTE links.

-Teledyne DALSA: Through use of Teledyne DALSA's BOA line of image processing cameras, we were able to detect samples at a far greater distance than through the use of the onboard operator cameras.

Competition rundown:

6:30 - Competition clock starts.

10:00 - An unfortunate hardware failure requires us to use our 10 minute repair period to install a replacement gearmotor on our arm.

20:00 - Our stellar onsite team is able to successfully repair the rover. We now must do our best to catch up on lost time, as well as re-calibrate our position encoders for automated functionality.

39:00 - Correct calibration of encoders is restored. Retrieval rate is increased dramatically.

41:00 - One of our 4G LTE connections encounters issues and begins dropping many UDP packets. Thanks to Peplink's SpeedFusion hot failover technology, we are able to drop the degraded link without interrupting the connection and continue operation on our remaining 4G link from a competing provider.

1:06:33 - Run is completed successfully. Time to celebrate, finally, we can sleep!
