US Stocks End Mixed As Bond Yields Spike On Debt Concerns, Asia Surges; A Mild +ve Start On D-St?

U.S. stock market ended choppy session little changed on Thursday after the House of Representatives passed the US President Donald Trump’s tax and spending bill.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average eased 1.35 points to 41,859.09, while the S&P 500 fell 2.60 points, or 0.04%, to 5,842.01. The Nasdaq Composite closed 53.09 points, or 0.28%, higher at 18,925.74.

Asian markets traded mostly higher today as investors assess a slew of economic data from the region.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 gained 0.48%, while the Topix rose 0.5%. South Korea’s Kospi added 0.36% and the small-cap Kosdaq declined 0.34%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index futures indicated a lower opening.

Meanwhile, Gift Nifty was trading around 24,690 level, a premium of nearly 38 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close, indicating a mildly positive start for the Indian stock market indices.
