MANIPUR: Newly appointed Manipur DGP Mukesh Singh arrives in Imphal

Newly designated Manipur Director General of Police (DGP) Mukesh Singh arrived at Imphal Airport on Saturday afternoon ahead of officially assuming charge on June 1.

Speaking briefly to reporters upon arrival, Singh said, "I will speak... let me join."

The Government of Manipur has appointed the 1996-batch IPS officer as the new DGP and Head of the Police Force following his inter-cadre deputation from the AGMUT cadre to the Manipur cadre, approved by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

Mukesh Singh is set to take over as the state's top police officer from June 1, 2026.
