Al Taylor Rim Jobs and Sideffects at David Zwirner

Joking a jokester is a dangerous proposition, especially when that jokester is Marcel Duchamp, but with this collection of works, Taylor seems to be doing just that. "Rim Jobs" employs readymade bike wheels, variously cut and splayed. The three dimensional "sculptures" function as lines in space, and serve as the subject for the gestural drawings. "Sideffects" project round flat shapes from the wall on flimsy stems, and relates to the idea of connecting the dots but in volumetric space.
