The type of housing available in Astana, Kazakhstan, is almost always apartments. Currently, very few houses are available for rent. However, with the continued expansion of the city, this is expected to change over time. With the Ishim River splitting the city into two, creating a natural north and south divide, the areas of town are often referred to as the old center and the new. One will find expats living on either side as both parts of this city have their own benefits and charm.
