Paul North: Diving the Frigid Unknown | OPTIC 2019

Photographer Paul North has been diving the waters of the Arctic for years and identifies as a marine educator. He uses his photography to show people what goes on under the surface of the water, and at OPTIC 2019, he shared stories and photos of his time diving the waters of the Arctic Ocean. BIO:
Paul North is the founder of Meet the Ocean and host of its educational podcast. As a polar expedition diver and photographer with Lindblad Expeditions/National Geographic, he tours the remote underwater landscapes of our planet. He produces online media and public outreach campaigns that encourage urgency to protect and better understand the precious nature of our planet’s saltwater ecosystems. Leading a team of creative marine educators, North employs storytelling as a tool to advance the methods of how science is communicated to the public.
