The Core i5-12400 rocks 6 cores and 12 threads which means it doesn't feature any E-Cores (Gracemont architecture) and relies fully on the Golden Cove cores. The CPU carries 18 MB of L3 cache (3 MB per core) and has a clock speed of 4.0 GHz on all cores and 4.4 GHz on a single-core.

The Intel Core i5-10400F is a desktop processor with 6 cores, launched in April 2020. It is part of the Core i5 lineup, using the Comet Lake architecture with Socket 1200. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading the core-count is effectively doubled, to 12 threads. Core i5-10400F has 12MB of L3 cache and operates at 2.9 GHz by default, but can boost up to 4.3 GHz, depending on the workload. Intel is making the Core i5-10400F on a 14 nm production node, the transistor count is unknown. The multiplier is locked on Core i5-10400F, which limits its overclocking potential.

The Intel Core i5-12600K is a desktop processor with 10 cores, launched in November 2021. It is part of the Core i5 lineup, using the Alder Lake-S architecture with Socket 1700. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading the core-count is effectively doubled, to 16 threads. Core i5-12600K has 20MB of L3 cache and operates at 3.7 GHz by default, but can boost up to 4.9 GHz, depending on the workload. Intel is building the Core i5-12600K on a 10 nm production process, the transistor count is unknown. You may freely adjust the unlocked multiplier on Core i5-12600K, which simplifies overclocking greatly, as you can easily dial in any overclocking frequency.
