With every passing year, it seems like we're getting more and more isekai shows. Most of them aren't even good and keep flopping so I took it upon myself to see why they still keep on making them and how long exactly have they been making them.

Was Sword Art Online really the show behind the influx of all the new isekai anime or was there something else behind that?

Does anime have an isekai problem?
