How To Hit The Perfect Tennis One Handed Backhand In 3 Simple Steps

How To Hit The Perfect Tennis One Handed Backhand In 3 Simple Steps. In this video Top Tennis Training coach Simon Konov will help you transform your single handed backhand, otherwise known as the tennis one handed backhand, using three simple steps. Step One - Early Preparation. As early as possible when you have recognised that the ball is coming to your backhand, turn your right shoulder (left for left handed players) side on to the oncoming ball or the net. The left hip will open up as you change your grip if you've been waiting i a forehand grip and the right foot will come across the body's line and you'll move to the ball in a turned position. A very common error that many players do waste crucial time as they use sidesteps to move to the ball and then try to prepare the body to hit the shot. Save yourself time by turning early and moving with the body set up for the stroke. Step Two - Reaching A Good Power Position. By having the racket head higher than the grip in the back position you are creating great leverage in the racket head and arm/wrist. If you wait for the ball with the racket head level with the grip you are not allowing much space for your body to truly accelerate the racket.
