*BRAND NEW AZUMA* LNER: Class 800107 To Newcastle From Durham (First Northbound Service)

Operating the first ever Northbound Azuma service was LNER: Class 800107. Captured here operating on the 17:30 service from London Kings Cross To Edinburgh Waverley.

Personally I am disappointed to see the start of these trains, because the Class 43s and Class 91s will slowly start leaving the fleet, although it is comforting to know the North East rail network is receiving some investment.

Despite only spending around 15 minutes on-board, I found the seats in standard class to be quite comfortable, unlike the seating on other operators.
