(Linear Algebra) Inverting Block Diagonal Matrices (Quiz-Exam level questions)
Use the search bar in my YouTube video.
You can find almost any math topic you need in the search bar within my YouTube video.” If you want to dive deeper, say into specific calculus topics like limits, just search for “limits” or add terms like “derivatives,” “differentiation,” or “integrals.” The search results will organize everything clearly for you, making it a great way to study.
If you’re preparing for an exam and need a review, just type in a few key words like “review” . You’ll get a full list of relevant topics laid out for you. This is especially helpful during exam season when time is precious. Going through key exam topics from start to finish can really boost your preparation and help you succeed.

(Linear Algebra) Inverting Block Diagonal Matrices (Quiz-Exam level questions)
This Video (based on our math blog and class recordings) explains the process of finding the inverse of a block diagonal matrix composed of two invertible square matrices, B and C. It begins by establishing the invertibility of the block diagonal matrix, confirmed by the individual invertibility of B and C and a non-zero determinant. The solution then proceeds by assuming an inverse form for the block matrix and setting up a system of block equations. Solving these equations reveals that the inverse of the original matrix is another block diagonal matrix, where each diagonal block is simply the inverse of the corresponding original block. Ultimately, the key takeaway is that the inverse of a block diagonal matrix is found by inverting each diagonal block independently while maintaining zero off-diagonal blocks.
