Cappadocia, A Mysterious Place In Turkey - Exploring swords valley

We arrived in Cappadocia, we are staying in Goreme, the most popular town to stay when visiting Cappadocia.

Let us give you a little bit of information about Cappadocia - Cappadocia is the name of this region and a few towns are within Cappadocia region, being Goreme the most famous one where the world famous hot air ballon rides take place. The rock formations are the result of a volcanic eruption that took place 2 million years ago (even tho we found articles stating 60 million years we are more inclined to believe the 2 million), the rocks have this weird shape because of the wind and rain, the erosion process created this magnificent shapes and the people that were settled here discovered that the rocks could be "easily" carved and started carving the rocks and building homes, castles, places of worship and so on.

There's a lot to do around here and we noticed that most people here take tours around the valleys to see the fairy chimneys (rock formations), we decided that we are going to walk to the valleys and attraction close by since everything is like close by and we don't mind walking.
Our first "tour" was to swords valley and we are using maps.me to guide us around, we walked around 8km this day, visited a couple of cave/carved places and had beautiful views on top of the rock formations.

There are plenty of valleys to explore and we plan to explore a couple more, we also plan to explore 1 or 2 underground cities but for that we will need to take a tour or we are hoping we can take a local bus to the villages where the underground cities are located since they are located around 30km from Goreme.
