Welcome to our Home Honey Bee Apiary / Bee Yard Channel. This is our fourth video of our second Season (2022), which we hope will be interesting and invite you to journey with us by Subscribing to this, our Beekeeping Story as our family share our experiences – good and not-so-good. We plan to upload new videos for you to watch on a regular basis, as we share with you our experience and on occasion reviews of our Beekeeping and related experiences, as well as our Family Home Apiary/Bee Yard, here in beautiful Hertfordshire, United Kingdom.
Our beekeeping is based on using Long Hives, rather than the more common box hives stacked on top of one another. Just our choice and the bees are in our Home Apiary/Bee Yard, so will never be a large concern. We also aim to harvest Pure Natural ‘Raw’ Flow Honey and Comb Honey.
We plan to explore new and emerging - tools, equipment, frames and even the ‘hives’ themselves, which may provide a spark of interest.

This Episode (2022.04), we inspect the old and new Swarm colonies, a week after the Swarm. Did we find any Emergency Queen Cells in the old Hive (#1 Flow Hive East), if so how many? Watch to see if we maintained the colony, or whether we split them further, or made a Nuc?
My Father helps for the first time – truly a family Apiary / Bee Yard.

We consider the options – pros and cons of splitting, whilst maintaining a strong enough colony this early in the season.
We also inspect the Swarmed Colony in their new home (#2 Flow Hive East) – did we find Queenie?

Watch our story as our Home Apiary / Bee Yard has just doubled… or tripled to Two/Three Colonies!

My Father joins us for this Episode - another of our Family at our Family's Home Apiary / Bee Yard.
