Karaoke Party of One

Make a lockdown fun!!! I got a karaoke machine for a housewarming gift in February. While getting settled into the new house the Corona situation developed. The US responded by implementing social distancing, shut down businesses, and some states issued stay at home orders. So I never got to have a karaoke party.

Disturbed by the global situation and looking to lighten my spirit I turned on YouTube and started listening to the NPR Music Channel. They have so many talented artists and I needed to soothe my soul.

I saw Roy Ayers was a featured artist and immediately started the video. Immersed in memories of childhood, I reminisced on how much my mother used to play his albums. I felt inspired and started to sing. Something I had not done in a looooooong time. Sure I hummed along with songs and sung a few bars, but not like this. I was acting like I was on stage!

Then I thought about the karaoke machine. Wishing I could have a party, but couldn't, I decided why keep waiting. I busted out the machine and made up a song about my feelings as the music played. The song being performed when I started playing around is Sunshine, it starts around 15:50.
