The JR Hōhi Main Line - Japan Rail Tour
This is what it's like to travel by train from Kumamoto to Aso in the Kyushu area.
The locomotive is a Kyushi Railway Company - KiHa 200DC Diesel Car. It runs between Kumamoto & Oita a few times a day.
I got off at Aso Station, the gateway to the stunning Aso-Kuju National Park, known for its active volcano and awesome natural landscapes.
