How to Rewind & Repair a 3 Phase Motorcycle ATV UTV Powersports Stator Yourself

With the reasonable prices and good quality of aftermarket stators, it's not often worth rewinding a stator yourself, as it is a decent amount of labor. However sometimes you just need to because there is no aftermarket solution, or you need to increase power output, or change the power delivery curve in the RPM range. Rewinding a stator yourself can be the solution. It's not difficult, just time consuming. Follow along as I show you have to rewind a stator.

In this example, it is a ~2000 Suzuki GSXR1000 stator that is being rewound in a delta configuration.
