Chevy Avalanche cladding restoration

Have faded, chalky, oxidized Chevrolet Avalanche cladding? There are lots of methods out there to supposedly restore it. Commonly you see videos of folks heating it with a heat gun, but the risk of damage is obvious. I test out methods using transmission fluid, Back to Black, and 303 aerospace protectant. The results were not what I was expecting...
