Piton de la Fournaise - crackling rocks

41 days after the 2-6th of April eruption, next to the rim of the main vent, some strange noises of crackling rocks witness the heat still quite important underneath.

The last hours of this "lockdowned" eruption triggered heavy 200m high lava fountains that destroyed the ongoing edification of the main cone, and recovered the whole area with volcanic slags in an approximately 500m wide radius, while tons of Pelé's hair spread on half the island....
A nice common beginning, with a brutal ending, and nobody was allowed to witness it......
