Across the Mountains

Our first documentary film, Across The Mountains, provides a compelling and insightful human perspective on how international development is positively impacting lives in two of the most fragile places to be a human being in the world; Somalia and Somaliland.

The film shows that sustainable solutions for health care delivery in difficult situations – as in Somalia and Somaliland – must move away from charity and humanitarian aid and instead build domestic capacity to create necessary conditions. This formidable task is illustrated with challenges of and support to referral, qualified staffing, supply of medicines, infrastructure, coordination and the creation of appropriate demand.
