HLS in the World | In the Trenches of Criminal Justice Reform

At the core of criminal justice reform are stories—the narratives of how we achieve justice, and how actors throughout the system dispute and re-shape what that means. In these Moth-style talks, we hear from practitioners with deep experience operating within, and attempting to transform, the criminal justice system. The session, co-hosted by Brook Hopkins ‘07, executive director of the Criminal Justice Policy Program at HLS, HLS Professor Carol Steiker ‘86, and HLS Professor of Practice Alex Whiting, featured panelists Alec Karakatsanis ‘08, founder of the Civil Rights Corps, and Jeffery Robinson ‘81, deputy legal director, Trone Center for Jstice and Equality.

Their talk was part of the HLS in the World bicentennial summit which took place at Harvard Law School on Friday, October 27, 2017. Read more: http://200.hls.harvard.edu/
