Favorite/Least Favorite Contest Reminder

If you watch both the original video and this video all the way through and read this entire description below, you will know everything you need to enter the contest. There is also another video about the contest (you just might catch the professor dancing in this one!): https://youtu.be/Qzyfgz0nl0Q However, if you have questions or are ready to email your Favorite or Least Favorite photo submission (or details for your mailed print), send an email to: ljiiiam@gmail.com. (Copy and paste into your email program. There are too many i's in that one!).

If you wish to mail a print, please package your photo carefully in a protective tube or padded envelope or slim box to help it stay in its original condition and mail to: North Hennepin Community College, ATTN: Will Agar, 7411 85th Ave N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445. Be sure to include your return address on the envelope and write "Photo enclosed—do not bend!" on the envelope to preserve your print.

CONTEST DETAILS: To be included in this contest, you must submit only one image [a decent sized file of your photo via email or a printed image mailed] and a sentence releasing the use of your image along with additional requirements [name, phone number, title of image, etc.] by midnight 11/30/2020, central standard time. Although we focus on traditional photography, your submission can be a black and white or color photo or digital image taken with any type of camera. Winners will be announced in December. A virtual gallery show featuring all submissions will be uploaded to this channel in December. If you have any questions, please send an email to the above address. If you wish to mail your print, please package carefully and send to the address above. Email ljiiiam@gmail.com to let us know it is arriving by mail. Mailed prints can be returned; please let us know if you'd like it returned. We hope you have fun with this and wish you the best of luck! We are looking forward to seeing your interpretations of a favorite or least favorite thing.

IMPORTANT: You must include a sentence allowing us to use your photo in the contest and in the video. You can use the suggestion in the video or word it however you like. An example is: "I give my permission to use this image shot by me and any information I provide about it including my name in any way pertaining to the Visual Assignment contest and for inclusion in the resulting gallery show video uploaded to this channel or shown elsewhere." Please put your full name after this release to enter the contest. This can be emailed or mailed with your submission.

ADDITIONALLY: Some additional information about your photo is requested. Please tell us a little about your photo in a few sentences or a short paragraph. Some things to consider are: Why did you take it? What does it mean to you? Why is this your favorite or least favorite thing/event/feeling/activity? Also, many people love to hear details such as what camera and lens were used, what film and development process, did you use a filter, darkroom procedure, etc.

PRIZES: 1st prize is an 11"x14" silver gelatin print of your choice from Professor Agar's website: www.willagar.com. 2nd prize is an 8'x10" silver gelatin print, also your choice from Prof A's website. 3rd prize is a 4"x5" contact print of your choice from the Professor's website, dry mounted, ready to frame.
