Chicago January 30th, 2019, -60F

On this day in Chicago history, the windchill reached -60F in the morning and 90% or more of people stayed home from work and took PTO days or worked from home. I wore a down coat, multiple layers, a balaclava, a scarf, ski goggles and snow pants to keep me warm and decided to go in to the office. I had a plastic bag with two hand warming packets in it dangling from my belt inside of my pants to keep my man parts warm. CTA buses were used as mobile warming shelters in case anyone that did venture into Chicago was caught outside unprepared for the weather. Even wearing proper clothing it would not be wise to be outside for more than 30 minutes on a day like this. The steam from my face eventually made my ski goggles ice over and made them unusable.
