Pulling fuel strainer drain knob during preflight inspection of Cessna 172
Part of the preflight inspection is to check for and drain out any sediment or water in the fuel by pulling a knob near the oil dipstick for a few seconds. You have to be careful where you stand so you don't squirt fuel on your leg and shoe, because it's not obvious from above where the fuel is going to come out.
