13" Forklift motor for EV project

First look at a forklift motor I pulled out of a 6,000 lb. capacity Yale forklift. This is a very large series-would DC motor which which be appropriate to hot rod for an electric car. I start pulling parts off both ends to take a look at the shaft. http://300mpg.org
In this video, we start off looking at the tail shaft and commutator end of the motor. This end had a parking brake on it.
