Recruiter FAQs: What if I don't have all the job requirements?
“What should I do if I don’t meet all the requirements in a job posting?”
This one comes up a lot. Especially for candidates who are deep in the job search and second-guessing themselves.
* Some requirements are hard (non-negotiable).
* Some are soft (nice to have).
* You don’t need to check every single box. Just most of them.
If you meet 80% of the requirements and aren’t missing anything critical (like a chemical engineering degree for a chemical engineering job), then apply!
But if you know deep down that you're not remotely qualified…
Please. I beg you. Don't do it.
Don't waste time for the recruiters and HR folks out there. We’ve got enough going on! 😅
