Get out of common progressions with Modal Interchange + Sheet Music

In this video, I present a freshly created chord progression in C major that starts with a simple, classic I-IV. Then, by borrowing chords from the parallel key of C minor, the progression gains a surprising and fresh sound. Modal interchange is probably the most important and easiest tool to expand the harmonic options available when writing a new song or rearranging an existing one.
In the score, I used two different colors for the chord symbols to help visually distinguish which chords are diatonic to the C major scale (orange symbols) and which belong to the C minor scale (turquoise symbols).
It’s worth noting that within the mostly C minor-based sequence, there is also an Fadd9/A chord, which is diatonic to C major but functions mainly as a chromatic passing chord between Bb7sus2 and Abmaj7.
The chord symbols have been slightly simplified for clarity in the score; they could be further refined by considering the chords formed through melodic movement on the off-beats of each measure during the descending bass line.
