Sell More Books with Ads | How To Make A Facebook Ad

Welcome back to our Saturday Series all about how to sell more books with ads. Today I’m going to show you how to make a facebook ad. So stick around:

Last week I showed you how to create amazon ads. While amazon ads are usually the first type of ad I suggest authors to make, because they are probably the easiest to implement as well as the cheapest, Facebook ads definitely should have a place in your book ads arsenal.

There are some major benefits to using Facebook ads. Benefits that Amazon ads just can’t touch. Things like:
1. Quick Data – within just a few hours of launching your ad, you’ll be able to see data on how they are performing.
2. Granular audience information – This is really the only ad platform I’ve found where you can truly learn about your audience. You may think you know what your target audience is, but through ad testing with Facebook ads, you can actually SEE who your target audience is, what’s their age, gender, which country you do better in and even what their interests are.

The downsides to Facebook ads is:
1. Unlike Amazon Ads, Facebook ads are extremely happy to spend your entire budget and quickly if you’re not checking your ads.
2. They’re not as warm of an audience as what you’d get with Amazon Ads. After all people are on Facebook to socialize or spy on their ex, not necessarily to buy something.

Enough talk, let me show you how to make a facebook ad.

As you saw, running Facebook ads for books can be extremely powerful. Within one campaign I’m able to create different ad sets.

So, I’ll have 6 ad sets for this 1 book. The 1 I created of Men and women 25-65, then I’ll do one for just men, one for just women and then an 18-24 year old for men, women and both.

Then within each ad set, I’ll probably show multiple ads, one with the teddy bear, one with xylophone and one with a little boy. I created those super quick using Book Brush and their Instant mockups.

I know that’s a lot of information. But you don’t have to go to that level. To begin with, just stick with 1 audience and 1 ad and see how it runs.
