Claude Code just blocked its most dangerous command (v2.1.183) #shorts

One command was all it took for an AI agent to wipe a full day of uncommitted work.

Claude Code v2.1.183 (June 19) just changed that. In auto mode — where the agent runs on its own — it now hard-blocks the destructive commands by default. The big one: git reset --hard, the command an agent used to fire to "roll back," throwing away every uncommitted change. Now it refuses, unless you actually told it to discard your work.

What it now blocks by default in auto mode:
→ git reset --hard / git checkout -- . / git clean -fd / git stash drop (when you didn't ask to discard)
→ git commit --amend (when the commit wasn't made by the agent this session)
→ terraform / pulumi / cdk destroy (unless you name the exact stack)

No config, no flag — it's the new default. Check yours: run claude update, then claude --version. 2.1.183 and up has it.

Comment SAFEGIT and I'll send you the free guide — the full blocked-command list, the version check, and three settings that keep an unattended agent off anything you didn't ask for.

New builder-safety breakdown every week — follow if that's worth your feed.
