DadCode: Wrapping a Real API with 5 Custom MCP Tools (Part 3 of 3)

This is it, the finale of our 3-part series! Today, we wrap up our project by building a complete, private financial AI agent from scratch, running entirely on an external drive.

In this video, we review the fully assembled architecture. We've built an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that wraps a real financial data API and exposes 5 distinct tools: live quotes, historical data, ticker search, AI analysis, and a custom combo tool. We drive it all via a local test client using Gemma through Ollama for fast, private, and free local AI insights. Best of all, the entire environment is managed seamlessly with 'uv'—no messy virtual environments or manual pip installs, just 'uv run'.
