Will Koop, Independant Watershed Researcher and Historian talks with host Gloria Creighton about the quality of the water coming from the GVRD's watersheds and the factors such as clearcut logging, and erosion which are diminishing this quality and also increasing the risk of slides, silt buildup, and forest fires and necessitating the use of greater amounts of chlorine in the districts water and forcing the GVRD to contemplate spending over a billion dollars on a new filtration Plant. There has also been a degradation of the watersheds as natural habitat for wild and endangered species such as the Spotted Owl and the Marbled Murrelet
