Although renowned for being a Grammy-winning performer, composer, and educator, a master musician, his gentle voice may just be as relaxing as his jazz music, enough to trigger those ASMR tingles. Ron is among the most influential bassists in jazz history, honored in the 2015 Guinness Book of World Records with more than 2,200 albums to his credit. Listen to The Library's Larry Appelbaum interview with the music genius as the latter calmly answers the interviewer his soft-spoken voice. Larry Applebaum, The Library's senior music reference librarian and jazz specialist in the Music Division talks with legendary jazz bassist Ron Carter. As mentioned, he has an amazing list of over 2,000 records with various collaborators which runs through jazz history, connecting blues, swing, bebop, hip-hop and funk. In this ASMR video interview, Ron talks about his early life and influences, his musical career, and so much more.
