"A MAJOR CONCERN:" Michigan’s teacher shortage persists despite record certifications

Researchers from Michigan State University’s Education Policy Innovation Collaborative, known as EPIC, delivered findings on the issue to the State Board of Education this month. Key highlights published this month by EPIC show Michigan’s supply of newly certified teachers is increasing at record-high rates, but not fast enough to offset the pace of teachers leaving the profession.
