Generator Noise Reduction Box (How to make a generator quiet box)

How to make a generator more quiet? In this video I demonstrate sound testing of our generator sound reduction box to see how much quieter it makes our generator. Reducing generator noise can be easy with the right box. The hard part is keeping the generator from over heating.

Creating airflow and making sufficient ventilation, all while still reducing enough sound to justify the effort, is very tricky. I will state right up front that this is still a work in progress but I think it’s a winner!

The first half of this video consists of sound comparisons up close and at 25 feet away of the noise levels with and without the generator quiet box. We did our testing 50 miles north of Las Vegas and 10 miles out in the middle of the desert.

The second half of the video is dedicated to how the sound box was constructed and I also share all of the measurements and engineering.
