Andy Williams - Baby It's You, Since I Fell for You (1969)

When Andy Williams returned to weekly television in 1969 after a two-year hiatus, he was embracing the pop music revolution and aiming to contemporize his repertory with current and recent pop, rock, and folk material. The first song in this set is "Baby, It's You," a hit for both the Beatles and the Shirelles in the early '60s, and in 1969 a current hit for the rock band, Smith. The second song is the blues ballad, "Since I Fell for You," a 1963 hit for Lenny Welch that was already well on its way to becoming a standard. The contemporary arrangements (possibly by conductor Mike Post) helped reveal a more emotional soul and blues side to Andy's singing that shined in these performances.
