How To Use During & While [Basic English Grammar]

In this video, learn how to use "during" and "while" so you can improve your basic English grammar.

"During" and "while" both have the same meaning. They're used to talk about something that happens at the same time as something else.

You can think of it as Action A is talking place and there's a start and end to Action A. At some point from the start to the end of Action A, Action B happens.

We can say that Action B happens WHILE/DURING Action A.

Although the meaning is the same, the sentence structure is not.

We use "during" with a noun.

We use "while" with a clause or sentence.

That's the important difference that you need to remember to make sure you're using "during" and "while" fluently and confidently in your speech.
