Gold is one of the oldest investments and for good reason. There is no better store of value or inflation-hedge. The return on gold jumped last year and surged double-digits this year in the first few months. But how do you know if gold is a good investment right now, whenever you see this video?

In the first of a three-video series sponsored by Vaulted, I’ll reveal the supply and demand factors to help you value gold as an investment. I’ll show you why gold is a good investment for its safety and returns. I’ll then share three ways to buy gold; two that I use and one that is a horrible idea.

Gold is a physical asset and an inflation hedge, that means it keeps its value even when the dollar falls apart. It’s also the ultimate safety investment. Gold is the asset investors rush to when nothing else works.

To analyze gold as an investment, you only need to look at supply and demand. Since supply of gold is fairly consistent, you really only need to look at the four factors in demand [Central Banks, Tech Demand, Investor Demand for Gold, and Jewelry Demand]. Finding the trends in these four factors will tell you if the price of gold is going up or down.

As for those ways to buy gold, I love the gold stocks and gold ETF but they can’t compare to the safety of buying gold bars. There are pros of cons in each method so I use a mix of both but you need that safety if everything else falls apart.
