What to do in & around WHISTLER (Canadian Rockies Road Trip)

Hey Guys, hope you’re all still doing well during lockdown.
This is Episode 3 in the Canadian Road Trip Series.
Still to come;
Jasper
Banff
Kelowna
Four seasons hotel - 10/10 no faults at all. We got it for a very good price as we were staying out of season. Highly recommend.
Our favourite food place ever - Portobello! Located on the side of the Fairmont hotel. The lunch menu in this cafe is absolutely amazing. I had literally the nicest sandwich I’ve had in my life (and I truly mean that).
They also have great coffee and fresh baked goods every day and surprisingly it’s not super expensive.
Polaris RZR Adventure - think it was around $150 for a 3-hour tour - totally worth it. We got to take turns driving, some parts were actually pretty challenging which made it more fun and interesting. Can be done on a rainy day too. You get given overalls etc to stop you getting too dirty. Good group activity. Get to see some amazing viewpoints. Only takes half a day so you can squeeze in another activity too. We did Joffrey lakes just after.
Joffrey Lakes Hike - possibly my favourite hike of the trip and tbh don’t think il ever find a hike which I would enjoy more. Our first challenging hike. I liked it especially as you are rewarded throughout each stage and each of the 3 lakes are very different from each other. The trail wasn’t too busy. Just over an hour drive from whistler, make sure you have fuel as not many petrol stations around. Bring snacks and water. Definitely worth carrying your camera up.
Train Wreck Trail - super easy hike and a great hike to start on, gives you a good feel of the outdoors / exploring etc. The train wreck is actually pretty insane. Only takes like 20/30 minutes to get there and it’s fairly flat if not downhill / on the way back is a little harder. Only a 15/20 minute drive from whistler. A little hard to find so make sure you google about how to find the trailhead. If you’re coming down from whistler you will have to make a u-turn at some point to get on the other side of the highway.
Brandy wine falls - Super easy hike, pretty cool that you have to walk across a train track. Only a 15 minute flat walk to the falls. Apparently, you can get to the bottom, but if you get caught you will get fined as the trail is closed. Me and Frances started to make our way down but it was getting close to dark and decided it was a bad idea as it was only our second hike and we felt inexperienced.
Peek Pies - good but not as good as an English pie. Can see why Canadians, Aussies and Americans like it. Tbh not super cheap around $35 for two pies and two drinks.
The Mexican Corner - unreal Mexican restaurant - good value, good sangria.
Sachi Sushi - Really good sushi and reasonably priced.
Dinner places close around 9pm so go early for dinner rather than later.
The town itself is unbelievably cute and we didn’t even get to see the town centre. There’s a good vibe around town. Try downhill
Mountain biking if you get the chance apparently it’s amazing, also try the zip line it’s in the adventure camp where you can also do rafting, Vallea Lumina, ATV tour all in the one location.
Go to the four seasons and try a Ceaser, it’s the famous Canadian cocktail. It’s going to be expensive and even tho I didn’t enjoy it, I know it was a well-made cocktail. It’s also nice to simply chill by the fire at the hotel bar and explore the grounds.
As always...
