250VDC ZVS Tesla coil, 0.5ms to 6ms pulse width
I made an adjustment to have fine control of the pulse width. Previously it would go from 0.5ms to 6.5ms with the slightest turn of the knob. I think I need more than 6ms though because I know I can get very fiery arcs out of this thing. It was running around 250VDC in the video but I know the input voltage it much higher because the voltage sags while in use. So I quickly shut the whole thing off after the video, the buss voltage rose to 267VDC and then, like a fool, I turned it back on. This circuit is not one that like to have a high voltage turn on with out some kind of soft start. So I blew my IGBT's. They were a test set and preformed well. STGW40H120F2 for all who are wondering and ill be getting more in the future. I have one more test set, but they are much slower and I'm not sure they are up to the task. I shall see in the coming days.
