Olympus OMD EM1 MKIII Setup Tutorial 2020

Here are the menu changes I've made to my Olympus OMD EM1 MKIII for use in event and portrait photography. Feel free to ask questions below and I'll do my best to respond.

Focus Settings:
1. Back button Focus: Gear – A1- AEL SAF-Mode 3 / CAF – Mode 4 & Half-way AF – Inoperative
a. Button setup – Gear – B – Front button (bottom) – Face Detect ON/OFF
b. Button setup – Gear – B – Front button (top) – Choose Face
2. Orientation linked AF - A2 – Orientation Linked - Target Point Only
3. AF Illuminator – Gear - A3 – OFF
4. MF Clutch – Gear - A4 – OFF
5. Color of inactive AF point Gear – D3 – Display Color – 255 255 255
Exposure and WB:
1. Live View Boost – (now assignable to button and visible in VF) – Gear – B – Button Function - +/-
2. Flash white balance default – Gear – G – flash white balance on
3. Gear D1 Control Settings – turn off Live Control
4. Gear – D1 – Info Settings – LV Info – Custom1 – Histo, H&Shad- Level
5. Warm bias to AUTO WB- Gear – G – Keep warm off
General camera settings:
1. Beep OFF – D4 – Sound Icon – OFF
2. Image Review OFF – Wrench – Rev View – OFF
3. Viewfinder Info – D1
4. EVF Auto switch – Gear – I – EVF Auto switch – ON 2
5. Dual Independent Down – Dual Card Setup
6. Review Magnification – Gear – D2 – Playback Default Setting - Equally Value
7. Dial Function – Gear – B1 – Dial Function
8. Copyright – Gear – 1 you
Video:
1. Huge fix – the exposure settings from you’re stills DO NOT carry over to your video mode so if you like to flip between the two it’s way faster and less confusing
2. Huge fix #2 - AUTO ISO for video in M exposure is now an option
3. Face detect continues to impress
4. Don’t forget to turn on the sound and power for mics
5. Set your dials and buttons to the same functions as your stills if you don’t want to get really confused as you switch between modes this needs to be don via Movie settings page of the menu separately from all stills functions.
