DEAD OR ALIVE Disco In Dream Live In Japan COMPLETE SHOW

This is the BIG one. This is the largest venue in Japan, and the largest Dead Or Alive ever performed in anywhere in their career. This was staged following the record-breaking SEVENTEEN WEEKS at #1 with "Turn Around And Count 2 Ten", and the album that followed ("NUDE") produced two more #1 singles and won them the Japanese equivalent to a Grammy Award for best pop album. Although they did not match that success in America or back home in the UK, they did get two top ten Billboard "Dance Club Songs" hits- "Come Home With Me Baby" (#1 after a 9 week run) and "Baby Don't Say Goodbye" (#6, with a ten week run).

Sadly, the story in the UK was very different. They had just won a lawsuit against Epic / Sony records, and it is alleged that the label refused to promote the release in retaliation. The lawsuit forced the label to pay royalties for all twelve-inch single sales- something they previously considered "necessary promotional materials". Not just to Dead Or Alive, but to their entire roster! Coupled with Pete's desire to reclaim a private life in the UK, he and the band basically retired from British public life during the peak of their popularity elsewhere in the world. They would not release another record in the UK until 1995's David Bowie cover of "Rebel Rebel", and that was under a different name, "International Chrysis.

This video was made from a first generation tape- recorded directly to VHS from the TV broadcast, and is excellent quality video and sound. As a bonus, I have included a slideshow of the tour book set to an audio recording from the audience from a different, unknown date & venue of "My Heart Goes Bang", which did not make it to the original TV special.
