Handling AWS IoT Device Data and States

In this course, you learn about telemetry in the AWS Cloud. You will learn how a specific protocol, MQTT, helps with communication between AWS IoT Core and devices. This communication is accomplished through a concept called the publish-subscribe model. You will see how devices can feed into other AWS services. Based on telemetry data, you might need to send a notification to a mobile device, or to store a value into an Amazon S3 bucket. Rules for AWS IoT is the solution to these specific situations. You will also learn how telemetry works when devices are offline, whether unintentionally or by design. Device Shadows are a way to alleviate this problem by keeping an offline version of the state of the IoT device. This course includes interactive lessons, demonstrations, and knowledge check questions.
