Habitat for Humanity in Portugal 2017

Twelve hard working and adventurous juniors and seniors of the AIS Habitat for Humanity Team traveled to Braga, Portugal over the week of Thanksgiving to help build a home for the Lage family. The family of five were living in poor conditions and requested help from Habitat to renovate an unliveable family house into a decent home that they can healthily live in and be proud of. The students learned the challenges of physical labor of making cement, laying bricks, chiselling out channels in the rock for piping. It was incredible how fast they mastered the new skills they learned. They also had time to enjoy a cultural tour of Portugal. It was truly an adventure for all members.
