Makers Making Fiction A Reality | James Hobson | TEDxKC
Have you ever seen something in a movie, comic book or game and wondered if it was possible in real life? James Hobson (The Hacksmith) has made a full-time job out of making fictions a reality.
James Hobson quit his full-time job as a mechanical engineer to pursue his passion as an inventor. With the hope to inspire others to do the same, James documents his innovative creations on his YouTube channel, the Hacksmith. Whether making adjustments to his home-made exoskeletons or creating functional prototypes inspired by fictional ideas in comic books, movies and video games; James is a mashup of MacGyver ingenuity and playful Mythbuster engineering rigor.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
