Epic RZR 800 Custom Dash Panel Transformation! 🌟🔧 | Overcoming Challenges and Upgrading in Style!

In this episode, we're diving into the exciting world of custom dash panels for our RZR 800! 🌪️⚡ Hurricane Beryl might have left us powerless for over a week, but as soon as the lights came back on, we were right back in the garage, ready to tackle our next big project.

**Key Highlights:**

- **Painting and Initial Fitting:** We started by painting the newly arrived custom dash panels with the same high-quality paint used on the rest of the RZR. During our initial test fitting, we used some screws we had lying around. Remember, if it doesn’t fit, don’t force it!

- **Fabrication Challenges:** The first set of panels we received didn’t fit correctly. We tried filing them down, but it was too big a difference for a simple file to fix. Fortunately, our awesome fabricator sent us new panels with larger holes at no extra cost. Some switches were already stuck in the original panels and couldn’t be removed, but we learned from the experience and moved forward.

- **Upgraded Switches:** We upgraded to laser-engraved switches with logos for each accessory, adding a sleek and professional look to our dash. If anyone wants the original custom cut plate with three switches already installed (painted black and non-removable), let us know—first come, first serve!

- **Screw Selection:** Initially, we thought rivets would be perfect, but quickly realized they weren’t practical for switches that need to be accessible. We opted for **uxcell Hex Socket Self Tapping Screws, M4 x 20mm Carbon Steel**, which not only look great but are functional and easy to use on carbon fiber panels.

- **Carbon Fiber Wrapping:** We wrapped the panels in **VViViD Epoxy High Gloss Carbon Fiber Architectural Vinyl Wrap**. Here are some tips: use an alcohol solution (stick solution) to help the wrap adhere better, and the **Gomake Vehicle Vinyl Wrap Window Tint Film Tool Kit** for precise cuts and bubble removal. For the final touch, apply heat using the **Wagner Spraytech 0503063 FURNO 500 Variable Temp Heat Gun** to make the wrap more pliable, allowing you to achieve the perfect finish.

- **Fitting Gauges:** Despite the new panels fitting better, our gauges still required some filing to fit perfectly. We went to town with a file, eventually getting the perfect fit. To enhance the look, we added some LED tape around the bottom of the dash. Though the LED tape isn’t waterproof, we did our best to waterproof it by wrapping the plug side and connectors in shrink wrap. Only time will tell if it holds up!

- **Final Touches and Inspiration:** The final result is the best-looking dash I’ve seen on the market, turning a simple dream into reality. Big shoutout to Fat Boy Outdoors on YouTube, whose use of gauges inspired us to take it to the next level with HTX RZR Revival style!
